You made me want to sing!

I love you John. When I was little, your voice inspired me before I even knew who you were. Beatle records were played in our house all the time, and your voice made my ears prick up. I listened close. I miss you so much, and after all this time I still cannot believe what happened. You will always rock me. Bless you, John.

Bye-bye John

Hi John. I bet you don't remember meeting me at Leigh Casino Ballroom on 25th February 1963 when you played there with the Beatles. I was the one who grabbed Paul's leg and asked for 'Long Tall Sally' and you said to Paul 'What does he want?' I told you it was my 16th birthday (which was actually a month before) and you played 'Please Please Me' which reached No 1 that day. Afterwards you threw a copy into the crowd which, sadly, I didn't get. That was a magical performance and I have been a fan of the Beatles and you in particular ever since. Thank you for the pleasure and enjoyment you have given to me and millions of other over the years. Your loss was a disaster. Being a performer myself I played a tribute night to you that weekend finishing with 'Imagine' which I couldn't complete due to the tears coming from my eyes. It didn't matter though because the audience drowned me out anyway as they all joined in. God Bless and Keep you forever.
